How to Contour

How to Contour

March 25, 2016

We are super excited to announce the newest member of the RIMIX family of products, our contour palette! You have probably heard about the contouring trend that has swept the beauty community, well now you can easily achieve this look with our contour palette and we are excited to teach you how!

Our contour palette comes with 6 shades to help you achieve a natural contoured look. Our shades include highlights in matte neutral, matte warm, and semi-matte neutral while our contour shades include matte neutral, matte warm and a bronzer. All skin colours have been covered with this palette. You can choose a light skin palette or a dark skin palette.

What you will need:

  • Powders: use our contour palette or use what you have a home. You will need a matte hi-lite shade (lightest), a bronzer shade (medium), and a matte contour shade (darkest)
  • Brushes: a full brush for cheeks and a small blending brush for nose and eyes
  • Natural light

Step 1: Contour

Apply the contour shade (darkest) under the cheek bones, on the sides of your nose and under your jawline. Use the smaller blending brush for your nose and your full brush for your cheek bones and jawline. Our powders are triple milled so a little bit goes a long way!

Step 2: Bronze

Use the bronzer (medium) to shade just above the contour on your cheekbones and the sides of your nose. Apply the bronzer around your edges of your forehead and a little on your chin as well for a sun kissed look.

Step 3: Highlight

Apply the highlight (lightest) to the bridge of your nose, cupids bow above the lip, above the cheekbones and brow bones. Use a small blending brush for highlighting.

Remember, a little goes a long way and blend, blend, blend. For the most natural look, choose a room with natural light to make sure you have blended everything in very well. If you accidentally use too much, just use your everyday pressed powder with a brush to soften the look. As with anything, it takes practice, so be patient with yourself. Happy contouring! xxRi
